Initial Evaluation
The initial evaluation is structured in 2 parts to ensure a comprehensive understanding of your or your child's needs. Part 1 consists of a 60 minute virtual appointment, during which Dr. Burruss gathers an in-depth history and understanding of your concerns. Part 2 (typically the following week) consists of a 30 minute, in-person appointment. This visit allows for direct engagement with the patient and concludes with a detailed discussion of diagnostic impressions, treatment recommendations, and educational guidance.
Follow-up
After the initial evaluation, follow-up appointments are available for 30-60 minutes based on individualized need. These appointments may be virtual or in-person. Frequency of follow-up appointments depends on individual needs. All patients must be seen for an in-person appointment at least once per calendar year.
Single Consultation
Dr. Burruss offers single case consultations, commonly referred to as "second opinions." These consultations are often sought by patients and parents who are already working with a psychiatrist or primary care provider, but would like an additional perspective or recommendations to help guide care. These typically last from 60-120 minutes depending upon case complexity.
Fees
Dr. Burruss operates under a fee-for-service model and is considered out-of-network with insurance plans. Fees will vary based on appointment length. Please contact to inquire about services and associated fees.
Insurance
Arbor Psychiatry does not accept any commercial insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare. Dr. Burruss can provide a superbill if you choose to submit to your insurance company for out-of-network or out-of-pocket reimbursement if requested. Reimbursements are plan-specific, so please reach out to your insurance carrier.
